Member Biographies
Mr. Philip Manik Sr.
Mr. Manik Sr. is a hunter and he has been a member of the Resolute Bay CLARC for over 2 years. He is currently a member of the Arctic Fishery Alliance. He was also a past board member, vice-chairman and chairman of the Resolute Bay HTO. Mr. Manik Sr. has been actively involved with the walrus working group, caribou management and recovery plans and narwhal management planning through the local HTO.
Mr. Allie Salluviniq
Allie Salluviniq is currently a Community Lands and Resources Committee member in Resolute Bay. Allie used to be a member of the Resolute Bay Hunters’ and Trappers’ Association and the Relocatees Committee. He also was a member of the Qutiktumiut Outfitting Committee.

Mr. Simon Idlout
Mr. Idlout is an Elder who became a member of the Resolute Bay CLARC in October 2013. He has been a polar bear monitor for over 10 years and was part of the Inuktitut Place Names project for the Resolute Bay area. Simon is a teacher of Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit to community residents and frequently works with the Conservation Officers. He has worked as an electrician, carpenter and furnace mechanic and has instructed survival skills to the Department of National Defence and the Canadian Armed Forces. He has also been the chairman for the Resolute Bay HTO. Mr. Idlout was born on Somerset Island south of Resolute Bay and he has lived a traditional and modern lifestyle on the land and as such, he has extensive personal understanding of the land and the wildlife.
