Member Biographies

Noah Kadlak
Noah Kadlak was born and raised in Coral Harbour, NU. Mr. Kadlak is a past board member of the Community Lands and Resources Committee (5 years), the Aiviit Hunters and Trappers Organization’s (6 years) and Hamlet Council (2 years). He is also a past board member of the Kivalliq Inuit Association (3 years), Kivalliq Wildlife Board (3 years), Katudgevik Co-op (3 years) and Community Youth Committee. Mr. Kadlak is a retired Canadian Ranger with 25 years of service. He is passionate about wildlife issues and his community. Mr. Kadlak has attended numerous meetings regarding wildlife issues throughout Nunavut. He has also represented Nunavummiut at a CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) meeting in Doha, Qatar and a Marine Mammals meeting in Frankfurt, Germany. He has been on the Irniurviit ACMC since it was created in 2012.
Louisa Kudluk
Louisa Kudluk was born and raised in Coral Habour, NU. Ms. Kudluk grew up on the land, including the area near Qaqsauqtuuq (East Bay MBS). Ms. Kudluk worked for the Aiviit HTO for 20 years. During this period, she also held other positions such as the Hamlet Executive Assistant and District Education Authority Secretary Manager, both for a couple years. Ms. Kudluk has been a board member for the Hamlet Council (2 years), the local Co-op (2 years) and the District Education Authority (1 year). Her father was forced to relocate to Coral Harbour circa 1940s from northern Quebec (Qiliniq). Ms. Kudluk has 3 brothers in Coral Harbour and 2 sisters in Rankin Inlet, NU. Ms. Kudluk enjoys fishing, crochet and reading. She joined the Irniurviit ACMC in April 2018.
Willie Adams
Willie Adams was born in Kuujjuak, Nunavik before his family relocated to Churchill, MB in 1954. At the age of 20, Mr. Adams moved to Coral Harbour, Nunavut and has been there for the last 51 years. Mr. Adams is a respected elder in the community. He retired from the territorial public service over 10 years ago. He and his wife, Senark, have 8 children, 30 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren all calling Coral Harbour home. Mr. Adams extensive knowledge of wildlife and areas surrounding the MBSs was obtained through much time spent on the land. He joined the Irniurviit ACMC in April 2018.
Jean-Francois Dufour
Jean-Francois Dufour is an Environmental Assessment Officer with the Canadian Wildlife Service (CWS) in Yellowknife, NT. Mr. Dufour started with the CWS in Yellowknife in 2003 and has extensive experience leading and participating in migratory bird research throughout the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. He has a solid understanding of government policies and procedures, and of environmental, social and economic conditions that characterize communities in the North. Mr. Dufour has gained experience coordinating diverse working groups and facilitating management planning while working on the Northwest Territories Protected Areas Strategy between 2010-2014. He has been on the Irniurviit ACMC since it was created in 2012.
Annie Ningeongan
Annie Ningeongan – Biography in development. She joined the Irniurviit ACMC in April 2018.
