Management Plans
The Irniurviit ACMC has been working on management plans for the Qaqsauqtuuq and Ikkattuaq Migratory Bird Sanctuaries since 2014. Consultations with the community of Coral Harbour were conducted in November 2019. The final management plans were presented to the Nunavut Wildlife Management Board in March 2020 and their approval was provided in April 2020. The federal Minister of Environment and Climate Change accepted the Nunavut Wildlife Management Board’s decision in May 2020. Management plans are now in the publication process and expected to be made available digitally in English, French and Inuktitut by May 2021.
